Last week the shooting of "Thieves' Christmas - The Sorcerer's Secret" started. Tea Stjärne, Gustaf Hammarsten, Elisabet Carlsson and Gustaf Skarsgård are playing some of the characters from the Christmas calendar "Thieves' Christmas".
In this independent movie, we again meet orphan Charlie, who now found a family in the former pickpocket Kurre and maid Gerda. When Kurre and Gerda are getting a child Charlie feels unwanted. A traveling fair is coming to town and Charlie meets a mysterious magician who shows him a world of magic and exciting antics But what secret is he really hiding?
Simonsson and Stefan Roos are the directors and have written the screenplay, just like the popular Advent calendar from 2011:
- It feels great to get back to the Thieves Christmas fairytale world. Now waiting for an exciting new adventure for Charlie Kurre and the others - and for us too ... says the film's directors.
"Thieves Christmas – The Sorcerers Secret" will premiere across the country in autumn 2014.

Julkalendern is an Advent calendar TV show that airs in 24 parts, one on each day from Dec. 1-24. Tjuvarnas Jul (Thieves' Christmas) was the 2011 show and aired as twenty-four 15 minute long episodes.
To get up prepared for the story of the sequel, here's the synopsis from wikipedia:


"Tjuvarnas jul (The Thieves' Christmas) was the 2011 julkalendern broadcast 1–24 December by Sveriges Television. The plot focuses on a thief named Kurre and his little daughter Charlie. It has a style reminiscent of Charles Dickens' stories.

Kurre feeds entirely on stealing. He is involved in a gang of thieves led by the evil old woman Madame Bofvén. He lives alone in a loft, until a little girl named Ing-Britt (later renamed to Charlie by Madame Bofvén) who apparently is his daughter shows up outside his door. During the series they approach each other as father and daughter, while Madame Bofvén planning to rob the big department store and the police seek diligently after the thieves. As if that were not enough the store owner seems to have an illicit secret."

Nu har inspelningarna av Tjuvarnas jul – Trollkarlens hemlighet gått igång, med Tea Stjärne, Gustaf Hammarsten, Elisabet Carlsson och Gustaf Skarsgård i huvudrollerna.
I detta klassiska juläventyr, med karaktärerna från den populära julkalendern Tjuvarnas jul, får vi återse hittebarnet Charlie, ficktjuven Kurre och pigan Gerda.

Tjuvarnas jul – Trollkarlens hemlighet får biopremiär över hela landet hösten 2014.

Inspelningarna kommer att påbörjas den 28 oktober 2013 för att sedan pågå fram till jul på olika platser i Stockholmsområdet såsom Skansen och Årsta Slott.

I denna fristående biofilm får vi återigen träffa hittebarnet Charlie, som nu funnit en familj i den fd ficktjuven Kurre och pigan Gerda. När Kurre och Gerda får ett eget barn känner
sig Charlie bortvald. Ett kringresande tivoli passerar staden och Charlie träffar en mystisk trollkarl som visar henne en värld av magi och spännande upptåg. Men vad döljer han

Filming for The Thieves' Christmas - The Sorcerer's Secret has now begun, starring Tea Stjärne, Gustaf Hammarsten, Elisabet Carlsson and Gustaf Skarsgård. It sounds good, and very Swedish! I had to read both posts a couple times. Correct this if I missed something--

1. There was a popular 2011 series on TV that aired in 15 minute daily spots during Advent.

2.There will be a new 'stand-alone' sequel following the same characters. Gustaf is added as a sorcerer/magician. It will air autumn 2014.

I presume 'stand-alone' means it's a one or two hour movie. Aired on Swedish TV or in theaters? We'll find out soon enough.

Large headlights light up Faringe east of Uppsala in winter evening: here SVT advent calendar robbery in 2011 continues as a feature film for the whole family.

It's freezing , raw and dark.Lennakattens steam snorting white smoke in the winter evening. Four cannons shedding flakes over Faringe Perrongen. Twelve-year-old Tea Stjärne sneaks between travelers on their way to secretly get up on the train to go to Trondheim.

Though of course it is only in the movie "The Thieves Christmas - The Sorcerer's Secret". It reads Tea Charlie and there is also Lennakatten anything other than itself. It is teeming of people on Lennakattens terminus Faringe where some scenes that are recorded. Most wearing yellow reflective vests for visibility in the dark, many have headlamps. - When we break and go back to starting positions, you hear a voice through a megaphone. Tea / Charlie, who is the only bearing children starred in the film, does his job on the platform in take after take.


In the end , it's time for lunch. At half past six in the evening. Actors, extras, technicians of all kinds flows into the station house's heat.

Hollywood glamor feels distant. Here is the hard job that apply.

- It is quite a tough job and sometimes cold, late nights, says Tea Stjärne.

, she played the orphan girl Charlie in Advent calendar, but it also now in the feature film. Among her co-star's Gustav Hammarsten as pickpocket Kurre, Elisabeth Carlsson as maid Gerda and Gustaf Skarsgård as the new figure in context, the magician.

- The story is great! Exciting and at the same time such that you may laugh at times.

Tea Stjärne says , laughing, makeup dirty face, articulate and enthusiastic.

- It's super fun to record the movie. It comes as close to each other in the team. All jobs seem funny. And everyone is nice. Gustaf Skarsgård is very kind.

Sometimes looking at Tea recorded scenes, some actors do it, others do not, she says.

Theatrical Release will be in autumn 2014. Some years later the film is shown on television.

I cannot wait to see this movie!!! It looks like such a happy one with hopefully a nice ending for the little runaway. Loved the scene at the end of the trailer where he sticks out his tongue.
