This movie was made to make people think. I have a lot to say about it, but I'm going to do that in small increments, because I will no doubt leave something out and have to readdress it. Going into it, I was surprised! I thought this group of people would be a bunch of odd folks with idealistic beliefs that they had somehow gotten carried away with. They weren't like that. I also thought that they lived the way they did....off the grid, so to speak because the ultimate goal for them was to stay hidden while they carried out their missions. That was one of the reasons they did so, but not the only one. They really wanted to detach themselves as much from 'the system' as possible, because they truly believed it to be broken. They knew how to form permanent bonds with one another, so none had to ever believe they were acting alone, or doing more or less than the others toward their goals. Their goals were quite simple, too. As ancient an idea as "an eye for an eye" is, it was the basis of every terrorist action this group took. I thought Benji would be their formally 'unrecognized' leader, and he really wasn't. They all worked beautifully together. Each individual doing their job, and playing their parts in their 'jams'. Benji is a naturally charismatic individual with some very deep disappointments with the world eating away at him. He lives in the realm of absolutes. A thing is right / wrong, black / white and good or bad. He believes strongly in 'an eye for an eye'. Benji is an interesting character. Alex did an excellent job portraying him.
