1. You are working to lift the "invisible" talent. What does that mean?

We work with outreach recruitment of young people in areas with high unemployment, high segregation between neighborhoods. There are young people whose capacity has not yet been revealed, and we are working with their forces. The leadership program is an education in different parts of mentoring to hack ton. Here they come in contact with the business world and develop their own projects and business ideas for resolving local sustainability challenges. Many projects focus on studies and future opportunities, to help other young people to find jobs or study environments. Others focus on environmental sustainability, perhaps a food truck to reduce food waste.

2. Why is this type of program?

I think the magic we create is to bring together people who would not otherwise meet. There is no cross-border communities, but it is also a question of equal opportunities. Many of the young people we work with do not have a network, or access to business leaders, it is not obvious to them that they have the opportunity.

3. The program has been rolled in a couple of years now, what results it has brought?

At the start of the program, only 29 percent feel that they have the ability to influence their local community and after the program year has risen to 95 per cent. Consider what effects it may have on you as a young man feel that they can influence their environment! The same results we have seen with an increased belief in oneself and the ability to take control of their lives. And there is a big difference in networking; they have the support to realize their ideas and - not least - know who to turn to. These three components are somehow basis; belief in yourself and the belief that one can influence and knowledge of how to do it.

4. What can companies do better?

A broader representation; how we recruit and who can lead. Many have made the way they should work with sustainability in environmental issues, but social sustainability is a bit of a question mark. It is much harder to measure than the amount of waste generated, and you are not used to paying for it. In addition, there is confusion about the ownership issue; it comes under the CSR, HR or Employment branding? It should be part of the company's overall strategy to attract employees. Do we want to attract millennials, we must take social responsibility, and gladly locally. It is also economically smart; those who work with diversity in recruitment also reach a larger customer segments. These young people are a tremendous resource, which the business community has not really realized yet. They have perspectives that we lack. Most speak at least three languages and knows how to live in different cultures, or have an extreme momentum after the experience of a life on the run.

5. In February launches you a new program, tell me!

Only the fall of 2015 took Sweden received 35,000 unaccompanied children and young people on the run, a huge audience that the whole society is a little bewildered face. We now make an extra effort specifically for those who will be more about strengthening intercultural understanding and leadership. To see our differences as a strength that adds value, rather than something that disturbs a homogenous group. We launch including Bromley, an SD-dense municipality with high unemployment among young people. Here the newcomers a threat; "Why should we help them when our own youth do not have jobs?" It is important that we are in these areas, to understand the fears and be able to respond to them. And to show that everyone can contribute to mutual learning and curiosity rather than suspicion and fear.

‘Altered Carbon’ Star Joel Kinnaman Urges Chrysler To Cut Ties With Iditarod Dog Race

“Suicide Squad” actor Joel Kinnaman is teaming up with PETA to urge Chrysler to end its sponsorship with the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

Thanks to Toronto documentary filmmaker Fern Levitt, Kinnaman became aware of the dark side of the dog sledding industry through her 2016 film ”Sled Dogs” and wanted to help put an end to the cruelty.

“My goal in making this film was to change the laws that allow continual chaining and shooting of dogs… in our country, as dogs are considered property,” Levitt tells ET Canada.

Having worked with PETA before, Kinnaman was on board right away when his friend Levitt asked for his help in getting Chrysler to stop sponsoring Iditarod. “Yes!” was his immediate answer.

Kinnaman wrote a letter to Chrysler stating that the racing event has led to the deaths of more than 150 dogs and that those are just the reported numbers. He claims the figures do not include dogs who died straight after the race, during training or those put down for not being fit enough.

“A total of 350 dogs were pulled out of the Iditarod race last year—likely because of exhaustion, illness, or injury,” he writes. “One of them, named Blonde, died from aspiration pneumonia—most likely the result of choking to death on his own vomit, which is the leading cause of death for dogs who die running the Iditarod.”

The “Altered Carbon” star goes on to say that the dogs are “confined to factory farm–style pens or chained with only plastic “houses” or pathetic wooden structures for ‘shelter.'”

“It is heartbreaking that these dogs will never know the comforts of a warm, inviting home and a loving family and are forced to run almost 100 miles a day in subzero temperatures while their paws blister and crack. Sports should not cause the suffering and abuse of others, especially those who cannot speak for themselves.”

He concludes: “For the love of dogs, please do what you can to end this event by pulling your sponsorship.”

Coca-Cola recently ended its sponsorship with Iditarod after several other companies such as Jack Daniel’s, Pizza Hut, and Nestlé, cut ties with the race in recent months.

Hollywood celebrity Joel Kinnaman joins the Swedish wildlife organization, The Perfect World Foundation, to launch the Blue Bucket. A campaign with the aim of spread knowledge about, and to gather as much as possible of, the 8 billion kilos of plastic that ends up in our oceans every year.

There are some 20 million leisure boats in the US alone - all now invited to participate in operation "The Blue Bucket", in which the blue bucket itself is both a symbol for and the tool of cleaning up our oceans. Living in California The Swedish Hollywood actor Joel Kinnaman spends a lot of his time, due to his surfing interest, in and near the ocean. Kinnaman now feels he has had enough, and wants to get engaged with these important issues.

“Not a day goes by, surfing or spending time near the ocean, without encountering loads of plastic and debris. We are all part of the problem through our consumption, and it is now time for all of us to take responsibility and start doing something about it, ”says Joel Kinnaman.

Joel is now an active ambassador for the Swedish wildlife organization The Perfect World Foundation, which by its official approval and 501 (c) (3) status, now can act as a charity organization in the US.
