The Unoffical "Encyclopedia" Overview of Joel Kinnaman and His Projects
Joel's Encyclopedia has been created and maintained by Dome member, Dane.
This encyclopedia will always be unfinished, and subject to ongoing corrections and additions.

This encyclopedia contains brief summaries for your reference. Most of Joel's movies have their own topics in the Joel Kinnaman Forum. Two movies, The Invisible and Arn, are covered in the Gustaf Skarsgard forum.
Swedish-American actor. Born Charles Joel Nordström in Maria Magdalena township, a township in Södermalm contract in Stockholm diocese. The church is located on Södermalm in Stockholm municipality in Stockholm County and forms an independent parish.
Joel holds both Swedish and American citizenship. His father, David, is American-born and his mother, Bitte Nordström, is Swedish-born. His paternal grandparents were David H. Kinnaman, from Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana, and Rosalie L. (Mitchell), from Kansas City, Kansas. His father's family's ancestry included German, English, Scottish, and Irish. Some of his mother's ancestors were Ukrainian Jews who moved to Sweden in the middle 1800's.
He has one biologic full sister, Sandra, and one half-sister, Melinda, a famous theater actress in Sweden. Sandra works as a spokesperson for 'The Good Tribe' a charity focused on sustainability. We have a link to it with our charities. Melinda has two biologic half-sisters and one adopted sister. Joel claims all five as his 'sisters'.
Joel Kinnaman was educated at Malmö Theatre Academy (2003-2007), Lund University, and is a graduate of Lund University. He has also worked at the Gothenburg City Theatre. An acclaimed theater role was as Raskolnikov in Backa Theatre's acclaimed production of "Crime and Punishment" (2007).
He made his film debut in The Invisible (Joel Bergvall and Simon Sandquist, 2002) and was something of a breakthrough with the role as Frank Wagner in the film series about police officer Johan Falk.
For his performance in Easy Money (Daniél Espinosa, 2010) he was awarded the 2011 Guldbaggen (Swedish Oscar) for Best Actor. Kinnaman started his overseas career with a prominent role in the American television series, The Killing (2011).

Malmö Theatre Academy For over fifty years Malmö Theatre Academy has trained professional actors working in theatre, film, radio and TV nationally and internationally. The Academy has a solid reputation as one of the leading Nordic theatre educations with a clear methodological approach, a conscious educational progression and viewing the core knowledge in theatre as action-based. Many celebrated, loved and innovative actors are among the Academy's former students, and some of the most interesting independent theatre groups in Sweden have been created by former alumni. Since about ten years we have a Bachelor programme in dramatic writing, artistic Master and Doctoral programmes and a course in the Theory and Practice of Theatre in a collaboration with the Language and Literature in Lund. Department These programmes have also brought forth interesting artists in the performing arts field. These more recent educational programmes have broadened and deepened the Academy's knowledge production and specialist.
